Chat and timesheets

Project chat can help prepare an entry for work that has already happened. If you ask to log work you plan to do, it points you to the project plan. Review the proposed date and description before adding an entry.

  1. Open the project’s Timesheets area when it is available to your membership.
  2. Choose a capture prompt to place an example in the composer, then replace the brackets with the actual duration, one date, and a short description of completed work. You can also type the details directly.
  3. Check the proposed entry. If the date or duration is missing or unclear, correct the message and send it again; a draft is not created from an incomplete entry.
  4. Use Add timesheet draft only after the date, time, work description, and project context look right.

Record completed time accurately

Enter one date and one time entry per message. Use a positive duration such as “2 hours” or “90 minutes”; a supported compound duration such as “2h 30m” is also accepted. Planned work belongs in the project plan. The chat does not calculate mileage distance or reimbursement.

The project’s configured hourly rate is used by default. Only an authorized role can request a rate override.

If Timesheets is unavailable, ask a project administrator to check your membership and financial visibility. See the project role guide for more information.
